i'm just wondering which CPU would be better for gaming
the haswell 4670k or the 3570k

Solution
In reality the 1150 socket of today is in the same position as the 1155, both will be around till Broadwell is released (yes on 1150), but there will be a newchipset for Broadwell same as with the 1155 when Sandy Bridge came out on the P67 and the newcomer, Ivy Bridge came with a new chipset, the killer for the current Haswell's is that DDR4 will also be out, so upgrading to Broadwell CPU will have a double thrust mobo wise, as people will want BOTH the new chipset and DDR4 for optimal performance...the 3570K is still plenty viable
3570 goes in a dead socket....1155 platform has reached end-of-life status and while I see no reason to upgrade.... it seems unwise to invest in 2.5 year old tech at this time.

Yes, the IB CPUs OC's bettee than Haswell but remember also that SB OC's way better than IB ....IB and HW share the same fabrication technique and therefore both are poor performers heat wise (hence why both have been popular for delidding) . So while IB OC's about 6% better on average then HW. HAswell starts out 10+% better at stock speeds so IB never quite catches up.

I would go Haswell (4670k) and here's why:

Mostly because it supports the Z87 Motherboard Chipset, which means more SATA 3 and USB 3.0. Also, the memory controller has been improved, and though I'm not quite sure this is that new of a feature, Haswell is more power efficient in that it will dial down it's wattage input (with certified PSU's of course) when under light load.
