I'm looking to upgrade from a Radeon HD 7770ghz, I hope too keep the price under $350, and I'm a fan of Asus' DC2. Are there any other cards under $300 that have better performance than these? I plan on overclocking, the lower the power usage/heat the better. What card would be the best performance for the price/power consumption? I hope to play at max settings (I'll lower shadows if I can't) at 1080p.

Solution

600W will be enough to run a 760 and overclocked 965BE. However, I'd get one made by Seasonic...

Okay, so I did some looking around, it seems the 760 uses less poer than the 670 and slightly more then the 660ti. It out performs both for the same price as a 660ti. I'll be getting a 760 then.

Yes I know, this will only be temp tho, I ran a 770 off of this PSU for 2 weeks, it got hot but it never failed me. If need be I can hook up a second PSU (I have 2 CX430's cause they were on sale for 17 bucks at a local computer store)

A CX430 I picked up while it was on sale, I've seen it push 500+ watts tho, I plan on buying an AX860i along with a new case and CPU in the near future.

430W is running really tight with a 760. If you have a low power CPU..such as i3 then you should be ok. If you got a fx-8xxx then forget about it, no chance.

Alright, I'm going to upgrade my PSU to 600w, then buy the 760, better safe than sorry. It only sucks because I spent forever doing cable management, might as well get a modular PSU next. How's this look? http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139048

600W will be enough to run a 760 and overclocked 965BE. However, I'd get one made by Seasonic. Seasonic is on the top tier of manufacturers, ahead of Corsair. Also, this one has an extra 20W (620W) and is modular.

It's $5 more than the one you chose but it's much better quality and will run quiet.

I'll probably end up getting the ASUS DC2 card as I'm not exactly a fan of MSI.
