I know that the 800 series isn't being released unitl Q1 of next year and not much info has been released either, but i assume that that series will have a 4gb graphic card?

anyone have an idea if this sounds like it could happen?

Honestly, the 880 is going to be a long time arrival, so I would recommend the 780 for now, and then once the 880 releases, which will probably be a year, you can get that or whatnot.

Noooo, I'd certainly wait if you have the option. The 800 series will be an architecture change which happens every 2 years and there's going to be plenty efficiency benefits to it. Among other things, gpu memory will be able to talk to cpu memory directly - which is impossible right now - AND the 800 series will have Nvidia's Denver ARM core in each gpu... definitely something to wait for, but it depends on what you're using... Then again, I'm on an aging GTX470 that can still push through the newest games, even if it's an effort...
