Would a AMD 760G chipset mobo support a Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB and be able to run off of a CORSAIR Builder Series CX600? I'm looking to buy a Gaming FX6161 pre-build and put that graphics card and power supply into it.

Solution
Provided the motherboard has a PCI-express x16 slot open, yes, it will be compatible with that graphics card, and the cx600 will be enough to power it (even though the CX series is average at best).

If you are unsure whether or not you have a PCIexpress x16 open, give us the make/model of the motherboard and we can confirm for you for sure.

Wow, quick reply. The mobo has PCIe 2.0 and the Gfx card comes with 3.0, as I've never dealt with gaming computers (let alone any type of customization) this is gibberish to me. However, going off of what you said its definitely fine. What PSU would you recommend for a budget?

The graphics cards are backwards compatible, meaning a 3.0 graphics card will work in a 2.0 motherboard so no problems there at all. If you are on a very tight budget, the CX power supplies are about the minimum level, quality wise, you'd want to go. Typically people on this forum work with XFX, Seasonic and Corsair (non-CX) as the recommended power supplies.

This one is probably the most recommended psu on toms right now
