I've just got my new PC parts, and I believe they are either not installed properly, or faulty.
PARTS (currently installed now):
- 3rd Gen Intel Core i5 3570K
- ASUS P8Z77-V LX
- Corsair 600M Modular PSU
- Corsair H60 Liquid CPU Cooler
- 4GB Corsair (sorry, Corsair ftw ;-) )XMS3 DDR3 RAM 1333MHz
- EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 1GB GDDR5 (superclocked version)
- 1TB WesternDigital Caviar Green SATA II HDD
How I installed it all:
1) Took out all old components
2) Carefully placed new motherboard on riser screws and screwed all screws in
3) Installed the CPU into the socket and applied Antec thermal compound (has micro diamonds in, ha)
4) Installed the H60
5) Installed the PSU
6) Connected ATX and CPU cables
7) Installed the RAM
8) Installed the GTX 460 (in the 16x lane)
9) Installed the HDD
That's pretty much it. I hadn't touched any BIOS settings (except for turning off the CPU fan monitor since my H60 fan was plugged into the PWR header), made a fresh install of Windows 7 64-bit, and everything was going majorly slow, even after fully updating Windows.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
