I've recently been purchasing all the bits to build a new computer, and was wondering if you guys could give me some advice on memory DDR3 memory timings, specifically if you can still find very tight (CL9 or below) timings on current DDR3 modules at above 2000mhz.
It seems slightly bizarre that the my current ancient pc, an i7-920 running at 4.7ghz on water + 6gb ocz blades 2000mhz 9-9-9-30-N1, 3x2gb running in triple-channel (CL8 blades were also available at the same frequency) - seem to have tighter memory timings than anything I can buy currently. So I'm wondering if anyone can provide an explanation why this is the case?
Specs for new build:
Intel 4770k
Rampage Maximus VI Hero - I was tempted by the extreme, but the hero has everything I need, I'm never planning NO2 cooling or tri sli, etc
GTX 780
1TB 840 Evo
Hiper 1000w PSU - I have this lying around in a box so I might as well use it, although it is slightly overkill
Corsair 800D
Links to the OCZ Blade CL9 and CL8 2000mhz

Thanks guys.
