ok, so i get that the PCI is used to plug in my GPU, what i dont get is this; i baught an ASUS sabertooth 990fx R2.0 motherboard, and im reading the box and it says it has 4 SLIe 2.0 x 16 slots. now, this motherboard is fairly new and meant to run with wondows 8, SLIe 2.0 x16 however, is a dying tech it seems. so i need to know if a SLI 3.0 x 16 will work on my motherboard, im assuming not which angers me, because i wanted a gaming PC, and if the slots are too old, i essentially just dropped $150 for absolutely nothing.

sorry for the long story, i know people on forums like to keep it short.

Oh thank goodness. I was getting pretty worked up about that, you just saved me a lot of time and headaches lol. Now I can safely order a good graphics card. All of the 2.0 ones looked really awful. Thank you for that.
