So I have a gaming desktop but it's gotten a little dated now and I'm going to start buying new parts for it. The only problem is my friend helped me build it so I have little knowledge of what's good and what isn't.. I just need to know what I should buy to upgrade my pc.

Yeah, as I said before: Go for an SSD.

I don't think you should upgrade your CPU just yet however, it should work for most games (depending on what you want to play), if you are on a low budget.

If you don't have a low budget, something like an Intel Core i5 4670k and Gigabyte Z87X-D3H is a great option.

Also, I'd really recommend upgrading your GPU, but wait a bit as AMD is coming out with new graphics cards.

Hi Takvi,

First things first: What is your budget for your upgrade?

Are you focusing on gaming, video editing, overclocking, etc?

First things first however; I would recommend upgrading to an SSD. SSD's are more than 50% faster than regular hard drives, and you boot up within seconds. Let me know if you would like some more recommendations.

I mainly use this computer for gaming. If I have to upgrade everything I need some suggestions as to what would be a good pick and what is more important to upgrade first. I just don't want to spend anything over $300 for one item.
