Why is my new computer always on in the morning?

When I put my computer to sleep at night, I find it running when I get up the next morning.

In the command prompt I typed "POWERCFG -DEVICEQUERY wake_armed" and it said:
"Intel <R> Ethernet Connection I217-V
Standard PS/2 Keyboard
HID-compliant mouse
HID Keyboard Device"

Does that give any clue? I don't know what all that means...

On a side note, what software do people recommend to see your cpu temp?

In the BIOS you should find settings related to what wakes the computer up: turn the ethernet connection off. Also, turn Intel Smart Connect off (if it's not there, don't worry about it).

Do you own a pet? It could be that one of your pets touched the keyboard. That would turn the computer on.

For temperatures, I use HWinfo but that gives "too much" information. I suggest SpeedFan.

Still was on this morning. In the command prompt I typed "powercfg lastwake" which said my ethernet connection woke the computer up. Even though it's disabled in BIOS! So I went to Device Manager and found Ethernet Connection under Network Adapters. I double clicked it and went to Power Management, where "Wake On Magic Packet" and "Wake On Pattern Match" are turned on. Turning them off will hopefully do the trick. Just thought I'd update :)
