i guess either build listed is okay. i would swap power supplies from the intel build with the one in the amd build. you can't beat the 7950 for price/performance. go with 1600 memory ( 1.5v ). you'll get about 5 extra fps. might come in handy some day.

so, for me, the intel build over the amd ( or the amd build with a 8core ) watch future game requirements or your future apps needs.

i would put something very similar to either if i started from scratch.

basic gaming or not...the psu will be always one of the most important stuff in a pc..so dont play with that and get a good quality psu
corsair tx series or seasonic( but more expensive) xfx , antec ( but it depend the model )
