Intel Pentium G2120 in Dell Vostro 260. No Display.

Here is the Dell Vostro 260 specs:

I believe it is Intel Celeron G460 that I was replacing.

Anyway, I tried to add a Intel Pentium G2120 processor with the same socket type, but when I power it on, it won't display on the monitor. It seems all the lights on the motherboard are correcting working. When I put the original CPU in, it works fine. I even tried different fans. Fans work, just not the processor.

Any suggestions?

Sorry if I seem like a noob... or am one. How do I update the BIOS for the new CPU?
  3. Go to dell download page for your pc. On it be a link to bios. Read what the newest bios fixes and try it. Check before you run the bios update that the mb does not already have the same update installed...going into the bios look at bios rev on the main screen.

I flashed/updated the bios from A6 to A10 for the Dell Vostro 260 and tried the new processor, but nothing changed. Same old where the computer sounds like it is powering on normal, but no display. As I already stated, the old processor works perfectly. Any other suggestions?
  5. All you can do if the vendor dell does not have bios update for that h61 mb is to return the CPU for an sandy bridge one. Try emailing dell support see if there a beta bios for ib CPU.

So, it does matter if it is a sandy bridge or ivy bridge? The original was a sandy bridge, and the new one is a ivy bridge
  7. The bios On the mb has only code for the older sandy bridge CPUs.
