So I've recently been looking into making a computer now that my old and sad one can't even run some more recent games at all. This is more focused on budget than power, I just want my stuff to run. I've gotten a lot of advice and a few spare parts that my family or friends and I think I have a good list of the essential parts and I just want to make sure they will work together before I buy anything else.

I already have
Radeon HD 5770 Sapphire Graphics card
i3-3210 Processor
2x Patriot Viper 4GB DDR3 PC3-12800 1600 MHz Memory
And a few decent hard drives.

From looking at motherboards at my local Fry's I found a $60 one that seems to meet my needs:
ASUS P8H61-M LX3 R2.0
It seems to have all the necessary sockets.

They also have some reasonably priced power supplies, the one that looks like the best deal is $60 for 550 Watts but from what I understand that's barely enough for the graphics card. There seem to be some better deals online but I'm not sure what to look for in their specs besides the wattage.

Any advice or criticism would be much appreciated.

I don't know what they are talking about? With a bit of research the 5570 only needs 450w of power? I think it will be safe to go with that 550w or get either a 500w :3

The GPU is a 5770 and under MAX load it will only pull 93w. http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/radeon_hd_5770_review,11.html

haha, thanks, i just went on newegg and looked at the specs for the 5770..didn't really read any articles about it :3

You cannot trust the numbers given out on newegg because companies have to cover themselves and therefore say that you need WAY more power than you need. Even VERY high end cards like gtx770 and hd7970 barely pull 200w.
