I've recently read that you can overclock your monitor's refresh rate beyond stock settings. I have a Samsung Syncmaster BX2440, and I was wondering how 'safe' it is. Will it reduce the monitor's lifespan by a significant margin to clock it to 75hz from 60hz?
Money is kinda tight right now, hence why I wouldn't just buy a superior monitor, but for the same reason I wouldn't want to fry my Samsung.
If anyone has any insight it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
what you read is true (but, it may only be true for NVIDIA GPU owners) i have my S27A550H @ 72Hz but, it's worth noting that most monitors with standard 60Hz specifications will have a very hard time overclocking to even 66Hz.
