It may seem like a stupid problem.. but its a very irritating stupid problem. its happening right now infact.

here is the problem-http://i.imgur.com/XWMCV4a.jpg

my headset cable(cloth) keeps doing this it keeps twirling up and my old headset used to do this. it ended up breaking because of this. i dont want another casualty :(

Solution

You pull the cable high enough that the headphones are off the floor so they can spin until there is no torque left in the cable. At that point, the cable should be straight.

It twists onto itself because you keep torquing it in the same direction all the time most likely without realizing it. If you want to straighten it out, you have to "un-torque" the cable by hanging the headset from its cable, straightening the cable and letting it spin until it stops. That should keep it from twisting again until you put enough torque back in for it to start happening again, at which point you simply rinse and repeat, no miracle fix there.
