Hello,

First of all, thank you for taking the time to take a look at this. I built my current computer in 2009, and the HDD on it has started to fail, so I decided I'd like to start fresh with a new computer. When I built the computer, I had a lot of help from a friend, so I'm not the best at cross-checking compatibility.

GOAL: I'm aiming for a ~$600-$800, well performing, reliable gaming rig. Something that can play most games on High or sometimes Max settings (no games with insane requirements like Crysis 2 on max settings). Of course, if I can get something that performs well and is under $700 or $800, that would be great too. I will also be using this computer for office tasks.

You can make a couple of changes that will reduce cost and not hurt performance .

The Z77 chip set motherboard is only useful if you have a processor that can overclock . In this case you dont so you can use a cheaper H77 board and have the same performance .

The hard drive you have selected is optimised for recording video surveillance . Use a WD Blue instead

The power supply is more than fine . The case is a great case too and works well
