Hi guys I have a pc I built few years back with an overclocked (2.9ghz) intel q6600 processor on a msi g33m motherboard. It works great, i think 7.5 windows score. Anyway My issue is that under a torture test after hours, my core 1 is hotter than core 2 and 2 hotter than 3 and so on:

is this normal? I tried removing my cpu and applied brand new heat paste and it had no effect. I have a noctua case fan and a zalman 8700 cpu fan. All the cores seem to be having the same amount of useage, perhaps core 4 the highest even though it's running the coolest :\ I really wanted to overclock my cpu further but core 1 and 2 are getting too hot at about 64c.

is this normal?

Solution
Torture tests do the same load to each core. Cpus aren't perfect so temps will differ among cores. If it were to differ more than 10C during a stress test on all cores, then you should be worried.
