http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z87%20Extreme4/?cat=Memo...

this is the site that shows compatible ram. the problem is I cant find any good 2x4gb ram that's 1.5v in the 1600 range.

I did find:
Memory: Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($65.99 @ Microcenter)http://pcpartpicker.com/part/kingston-memory-khx1600c9d...
but its 1.65v is that even a problem(pcpartpicker said it would be)

can someone please help. is it a problem if the ram I get doesn't show on the compatibility chart?

please recommend me something that will work thanks

"Compatible RAM" is just about any RAM. It's not difficult to find, just about any will fit regardless if the manufacturer's site lists it or not. It only has to be of a 1.5 Voltage, DDR3, and somewhere between 1066 and 2133 realistically. Here:

Very true, the mobo QVLs are a joke, see here:

look for a 2x4GB set 1600/9 or 8 at 1.5, for the Rock's EX4 the GSkill Snipers and Tridents are both good selections, have tested a wide variety of each on that mobo
