I live upstairs in a house I am renting from some generous people, but unfortunately they have their internet router set up in the basement. I live upstairs and have a desktop so I am forced to use a wireless adapter(I can't expect great speeds I know)

I have a crappy one from walmart, like WNDA3100. Well I play online games and it is just not cutting it. I was curious if anyone here could recommend me an adapter that could get the best range, and performance.

I am honestly looking to spend as much as it takes, ($150 would be my max I think)

Thank you!

From a basement to a 2nd floor is unlikely to be adequate for gaming for most wireless routers. Your best bet would probably be a pair of Zyxel PLA5205kit powerline adapters, which are the fastest available and often reach 125Mbps. You would need to attach one to a power socket near the router and one in your room. They are just nuder your budget as you see HERE. Note that you need two and will have to buy the kit package (cheaper than two single units).

HERE is a good review of them, and I find them to be far superior to the earlier PLA4205 units.

Thank you so much. :) I have order a kit of those, and they are shipping to my house now. I know wireless from basement to upstairs isn't best case scenario, in fact it's close to worst, but the people I live with are nice and I'm not going to put up a fuss. These seem to be exactly what I am looking for.
