8 GB of RAM, is it Enough? Can I Add?

So as soon as I have my rig up and running cerca December, I am considering creating a 3D video game of my own. If I (hypothetically) already bought a 2x4 kit of Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 MHz, could I stick in another kit of the same RAM if I needed to or is 8GB of DDR3 1600 gonna do okay?

OR

Is RAM completely irrelevant to this situation and 3D game creation is completely CPU and GPU reliant?

Solution
RAM will play in, so it will depend on what all you're planning, for programming and design may want to go ahead and think 16GB from the get go. If your rig supports it look for 2x8GB, it's not a good idea to try and add DRAM, in effect mixing sticks, even if they are the same exact model - no guarantee they will play together, and even if they do, XMP is programmed by the packaged set so would have to rely on the ability of the BIOS to set up two sets or to do so manually

I'd grab another 2x4GB set to add to your RAM if you already bought it. If not then get 2x8GB cuz it'll free up more room in the case for a cpu cooler and probably cheaper than 4x4GB.

2x4GB is plenty for gaming and editing (non professional). If you are only thinking about doing game creation then maybe just get 2x4GB and expand later if you find out you need it.
