Hey community,

Building a new rig for a friend, and I'm torn between two cards, a XFX 7950 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150671) and an EVGA gtx 760 2GB (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130933).

Is the GTX worth $20 more dollars? Considering that the 7950 has more ram (owner will eventually have QHD display) and comes with more games?

Solution
The 760 has Nvidia ShadowPlay, which is only really a concern if your livestreaming or otherwise recording your gameplay.

Of the two I would opt for the 7950, mainly for the extra VRAM and ton of games that come the new Never Settle promotion. That being said, wait a few days and see what happens from AMD's Hawaii cards being announced, I would expect price-drops on all current gen cards (7000 and 700).

agreed with the coments above, Go with the 7950 becoz of the next reasons:

1. i own one myself in im extreamly happy with it.
2. has more then 1792 cores while the 760 has 1152 cores - a lot of difference in gaming.
3. 384 bit vs the 760 has only 256 bit - witch will dominate in future games.
4. as the guy above me sed, 3GDDR5 with the 7950 vs 2GDDR5 that the 760 comes with.
5. if it matters to you, the 7950 is very OCable and much more then the 760 - so it will last longer and will perform better most of the time while been OC.

Good Luck

And, the prices might drop even further. AMD introduces it's new cards tomorrow,
and it's possible the 7950 & 7970 will drop more. But, might as well wait
a few days n see what happens.

Nothing i can think of,
1 more important thing, from now most games will be optimazed for AMD chipset due to the fact that x box and PS4 will run amds chipset.

If i answered your question just click me :)
