i'm using winXP(sp3)...and i am planning to upgrade to win7.

will win7 be able to run the games in the same speed/performance/quality as winXP?? with these specifications

System Info.

m/b intel DG41RQ
core 2 duo 2.93 ghz
nvidia n9400gt 1 gb
2gb ram

like...i am playing mass effect 2 and it runs great(quite) on XP. so after i install win7..will it run the same way like in winXP??

the thought that bugs me is that win7 uses more memory than XP......even when its idle...so the games will not run the same as xp,because XP uses less memory..idle...

help!!!

Solution
U will need different driver for 64bit OS ~
Btw 64bit OS will let u have more ram usable ~
Compare to 32bit OS Lock u at 4GB ram no matter how much ram u have ~

Install 64bit version of w7, assuming your motherboard allows, install >4GB memory (8 is a standard recommendation).

All current games and most/all recent games e.g. mass effect 2 will have no issues running on W7 64bit.

W7 is generally considered an excellent OS and should have no problem running most games.

if u increase your ram to 4GB or higher ~
And u install W7 64bit ~
U should get better performance than in WinXp ~
But the only things that u might needed in your own ~
That is your MOBO driver ~
