Hi,

Just completed my new build, here is my configuration:

Intel Core i7 3970X Processor
Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4 Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance 32GB LP DDR-1600 Memory Kit
Antec HCP 850W Power Supply
Intel BXTS13X Liquid Cooling Solution
Samsung 840 Pro 128GB SSD
Gigabyte AMD Radeon 7950 Graphics card

After connecting all components and turning on the computer, nothing happens. All fans spin, including the graphics card, but my monitor receives no signal.

It doesn't boot into the bios or POST.

This is my first time building a PC, and I had my dad helping me out.

I can't exactly pinpoint the problem. Tried connecting a speaker to the motherboard, but hear no sounds/beeps.

Not sure if my motherboard requires a BIOS update to be compatible with the graphics card or not. Read up about someone with the same board as mine, had a 7970 and had to update the BIOS for it to work.

I'm not even sure if the computer powers on, or is running, like the CPU/Motherboard.

Don't know whether the Water Cooler is installed correctly, because if the CPU isn't receiving adequate cooling it won't turn on.

Please advise

Thanks

First of all, nice system! :)

There are a lot of factors that may come into play here...I'm sure you've checked to ensure the monitor is connected to the video card, and checked all the wires/cables are firmly plugged in to their corresponding devices.

Try booting the system with less memory. I've had a similar problem when I build my last gaming rig. It turned out it was the memory (btw, I wasn't getting any sounds out of the motherboard either)

Reboot with 4GB and see how it goes, then repeat with 8GB. If this works, then you'll need to look up your motherboard memory specs to see if it allows for more memory (btw you may have to manipulate the voltage of the motherboard to accommodate more memory - again refer to your motherboard specs/manual).
