AMD Quad-Core A8-4500M 1.9 GHZ is good for gaming?

I like to buy a budget laptop which i am going to use for upcoming games like GTA 5, Assasins Creed 4, Watch Dogs, Call of Duty Ghosts, Battlefield 4. will these games work on low settings on AMD Quad-Core A8-4500M processor with AMD Radeon HD 7640G/7670M Dual GPU (2 GB DDR3 dedicated), 4GB Ram.

will the 1.9 ghz affect the gaming? I no need to play on high settings, i just need to play on medium and low settings. will this laptop do that?

Please suggest me whether this processor and graphics work for future games on low settings.

1.9 GHZ ok for gaming? 4gb ram ok? becoz the upcoming games are heavy and i need to play in low settings only. will it work perfectly.

To anyone still considering a laptop based around an A8-4500M, I can confirm that this CPU is fine for older titles.

For example:-

Half-Life 2 - runs at 40+ FPS on high settings at 1920x1080

Crysis - runs at 25+ FPS on Medium settings at 1280x720

Crysis 2 - runs at 25+ FPS on 'High' (i.e. 'lowest') settings at 1280x720 with some advanced effects switched off via autoexec.cfg

COD4 Modern Warfare - runs at 30+ FPS with 2xAA at 1280x720

When I was serious about gaming I would have found this CPU inadequate.

Now that I'm a casual gamer happy to play older titles it's fine :)

That will do pretty good for gaming. It's certainly not a top-end gaming laptop, but it is ideal for a budget gaming laptop. You shouldn't have problems playing the games you mentioned on medium to high settings at 1366 X 768 resolutions.

thanks a lot for answering. should i do some settings for both gpu to work or will it join together for games. becoz dual graphics means will both the graphics work at the same time? also 1.9 ghz is no problem?

and that laptop would cost a whole lot more. the OP said ... Budget laptop. there is no i5 with dedicated graphics in the budget category.

To the OP:

If you can find an A10 with dual graphics in your price range you should be better off. 1.9 ghz is pretty low for next gen games, even on low settings it might not be playable. if you can find an A10 (which would most likely be running at 2.3 with a 2.7 ghz turbo) you'd be better off but not necessarily good enough. Next gen games could be very cpu demanding (GTA IV was a horrible game for being so poorly optimized for cpus so GTA V might have the same problems).

As far as setting up dual graphics it is pretty easy. Just right click the desktop, select configure graphics, under the gaming options in AMD Vision there will be gaming performance. click on that and you can set up dual graphics.

It will usually ask you to configure dual graphics on a per game basis after it detects something runs in 3d graphics. this is good since dual graphics can cause problems in some games and give lower frame rates that just running the 7670m alone.

That laptop would definitely fare much better than the first one. Again it is hard to say how well it will do with next gen games but i don't see why it won't be able to handle them at low settings, with the possible exceptions of BF4 multiplayer and GTA V (again, the cpu might not be able to handle either very well)

Thanks for giving the links. i cannot buy the lenovo ideapad because it is costly. I can buy the i3 which you suggested, but what is my doubt is i3 don't have graphics power, so the game should work only with 1gb Amd radeon 8750m graphics which comes with that laptop. it is 1gb only. But this model amd a10 5750m has 512mb integrated graphics AMD Radeon HD 8650G and 2gb dedicated ATI SUN PRO 8570 Graphics.

First of all the ati sun pro 8570 and amd radeon 8570m both same graphics card? becoz the names are different. PLZ EXPLAIN THIS FIRST.

So amd a10 looks Powerful than the i3 laptop. am i right dude? please suggest me a good amd config budget laptops.

Actually i have a very good laptop with me now. It is Lenovo Ideapad Intel core i5 2450m, 8gb ram, Intel HD 3000. It is working fantastic. I was playing new games like splinter cell blacklist, saints row 4 on low settings. But recently i installed alan wake pc game and it was lagging due to insufficient graphics power of intel hd 3000. so only i was worried about upcoming releases of games. i was not aware of the dedicated graphics when i bought that laptop. so i thought of buying a laptop mainly for games and this time i need to buy a good laptop with graphics power for games.

I should not make any mistake in buying laptop this time atleast

Answer to each questions.

1.you told that i3 has 8750m and it destroys the 8650g and 8570. but Amd a10 processor also have ati sun pro 8750 2 gb dedicated, then both are same right?

2. Core i3 3120m Passmark benchmark score is 3281 and Amd a10 5750m is 3499. So amd a10 score is high right?

3.ati sun pro 8570 and amd radeon 8570m both same graphics card? becoz the names are different. PLZ EXPLAIN

If you can go for the a10 5750m+8570m then it will be best solution, because it can handle all the current generation games at full resolution with medium to high graphics.If you want more frame rates then you can reduce the resolution.

You will need to get a program from amd called amd overdrive. it basically overclocks the proccessor to run faster. I have the same specs and can mostly run gta 4 on pretty good settings on low ( i havent tried any other game yet)

Damn!!!! Unfortunately i have bought the laptop u have mentioned first lenovo ideapad z585!!
none of the games performed well in this !!!!
Far Cry 3, NFS MW2,GTA 4,Hitman were the only games which did OK..... Now i got nfs rivals and the game stoped b4 even it started!!!
Is there possibility of changing the grphics processor or cpu processor!!
I am ready to buy a new processor and substitute this cheap waste AMD A8!!
Please give me suggestions!
or is there any possibility i can overclock or do something to make this lap work better for nfs rivals kind of games!!!

For the a8 4500m, to make it game ready upgrade it with 16gb ram. That should upgrade the experience index across the board, except for hard drive. For that you may want a ssd or if on a budget a better HD, i think like 7400.

Go to amazon and check the review for gateway a8 4500, and you'll see a few reviews, or. Acer 48 4500m and see alot of reviews on how to better the laptop. But generally those two improvements will suffice

It got me playing games like the witcher 1 enhanced, the witcher 2 (on med-low settings) and the likes. Canyourunit def says I can play GTA 4 and 5 (on low settings though)

Btw I have 512 dedicated, and with 16gb ram the comp allocates 4gb instead of 512mb

I have a laptop with a quad core AMD A10 5750m APU with Radeon HD 8670M and 8650G crossfire and i can barely run games like Blacklight Retribution at low-medium and Battlefield 4 at low with 60% resolution scale at 30fps! please help

Hey just connect ur carger to laptop and play if still it does not work try removing battery and run only on AC power
and set ur power plan to high perfomance

will removing the battery really help? cus mine cannot take out the battery without unscrewing the whole thing and BTW the model is ASUS X550DP-XX066h.
Also, is an amd a10-5750m with radeon hd 8670m 2gb and radeon hd 8650g or i5 4200u with nvidia geforce 720m better?

A8 4500M can play all of that game , but i don't know about GTA V and CoD Ghost , i haven't play it,
i have tested it on Watch Dogs,Battlefield 4, Assassins Creed (4,unity,rogue)

Note : I have disable my turbo core so it's run on 1.9Ghz
