Yeah this is the best motherboard out there right now also look into the asus sabertooth also very good.

1. What is your prospective cpu? That determines the chipset you need.
2. Are you planning on dual cards? That determines the size of motherboard you need.

You should be able to budget $150 and meet your needs.

In general, I would discount any motherboard description as "gaming" as advertising fluff.
If you are planning a good single card, then any M-ATX sized motherboard that supports your cpu and any overclocking will do.

Performance in gaming is determined first by your graphics configuration, and second by your cpu. The motherboard has little to do with it.

I would avoid overpaying for the motherboard and use the savings where it counts on the graphics, or possibly the cpu.

Yeah, even though overclocking requires a good motherboard. I'd like to see you overclock Well, efficiently and reliably on a cheap $80 board. It just won't happen. 'Gaming' motherboards, usually have features that allow you to overclock A) A lot easier and B) Has overclocking safety features like not allowing ridiculous voltages. So yeah, spend $80 on a M-Atx board and fry your CPU easily, or get an ATX board, with more slots, better performance and better overclocking power for $200.
