Do I need RAM with higher frequency for sufficient OC?

Hey fellas.

I am planning to overclock my i5-4670k to about 4,2 - 4,5Ghz to give my PC a boost before the Battlefield 4 open beta starts. I have been reading a bit about OC and found out that the frequency of the RAM in your PC have a impact, when you overclock your CPU to a certain degree. But I haven't found any sufficient information that explains this properly enough.

At the moment I have 16GB 1600Mhz Corsair Vengeance RAM in my PC (link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233141 ). Is the frequency of my RAM a bit to low to get my desired OC and stabilies it, or does it even matter in this case?

PS: If you got any good links to articles discussing the topic of RAM's impact on overclocking your CPU, I would love to see them and learn more about it. Thank you :)

Solution
No....in the ole days with BCLK overclocking you needed faster RAM because you were OC'ing the CPU by speeding up the entire system bus and RAM speed went up w/ CPU speed. Now we have a CPU multiplier separate from bus speed and the RAM is not tied to CPU multiplier.

However with the memory controller on the CPU, your OC can be negatively impacted by higher RAM speeds .... for example, your CPU may not be able to say hit 4.6 Ghz and 2666 Mhz speed .... maybe ya get 4.5 and 2400 or 4.6 and 2666. JJ has a bynch of Asus videos on youtube which address the issue in some detail

Your oc expectations are reasonable, but the higher numbers are subject to your bin quality.
Not to worry, the 4670K is very competent, even at stock.
Once you get to 4.0 you are good.

Intel memory controllers do not depend on fast ram. Anything that works will be within 2% of optimum in real app performance or FPS.
