I had my old hard drive stop working (error code 2000-0146), got a new one, installed the new OS (windows 7 home premium 64-bit) and hooked up the old drive to try and access the data. When I open the drive in my computer it doesn't show the bar showing the space left on the drive it simply shows a picture of the drive. when i click the properties it shows a solid blue circle, 0 bytes. I can run a virus scan and see all my folders and files are still on there. when i try to access it, it tells me:
F:\ is not accessible
access denied
I tried to change the permissions and that didn't work. it's running, but i can't seem to access it.
I'm tech ok, not savvy. any idea's? I saw someone said to download some free OS onto a disc and boot off that and then try to access the files.
Thanks in advance!
