In my new laptop, hp pavilion 15, it is supposed to have wifi feature as claimed by the manufacturer.

However in "device manager" I can not find a network adapter for wireless.

After installing the wireless drivers from "intel" website, the problem remains the same.

The keypad has a wifi button that remain orange all the time.

Does it mean that the laptop lacks this feature? I think its not possible. At first, laptop did not work with LAN but after installing drivers, this problem was solved.

I need some help in this regard.
Thanks

Hi,

In device manager, do you have anything in network card?

Goto hp website in the support section and download the driver from there.

Also try combination of keys: usually its fn+f2, but it could be f8, depends on each laptops.
You can find this info in the user manual or on hp website.

It has a button on f12 to enable, but the button stays orange all the time, even if I press it again and again or press and hold.

In network and sharing center, under "change adapter" the wireless adapter is not listed.

Hp website shows driver for only windows 8, but I am using windows 7 64 bit.

Hold FN when pressing those keys to activate the secondary functions.

All I can think to do at this point is open up the panels on the bottom of the laptop and make sure the little wireless card has not come loose from its socket, assuming HP has continued the easy to maintain design they used on my older laptop it should be within easy view once one of the bottom panels comes off.

It cannot be highlighted and no effect of pressing enter.

Though its disabled, does it ensures that the laptop has wireless card?

Fairly certain you aren't supposed to resurrect 2 year old threads, but to answer your question kanikeji, go to the support page for the manufacturer of your laptop, type in your laptops model number and there will be a driver download section, and the wireless driver should be one of the options.
