Which Sata port for my SSD

I have just bought a crucial 128 gb and my motherboard only has data 1-4. My HDD is plugged into data data 1 and my disk drive data 3, all ports are colour coded, Sata 1 is dark blue, Sata 2 is white, Sata 3 is light blue and Sata 4 is orange, no idea the make if my motherboard but I do need to keep both my disk drive and HDD in my system, what is the best ports for what?? Thanks

Can you check what motherboard it is? If you have a STA 6.0Gb/s you want to use that one.

Check your motherboard manual. You want to attach your ssd to a 6gb port, not a 3gb port.

It doesn't look like any of those SATA ports are 6.0Gb/s, so just plug it into whichever port you want, they're all the same.

I found the HP website with my motherboard make on it, but it doesn't say what speeds the sata connections are....

It does not matter if they are all the same. 3gb ports will limit your ssd sequential speeds to the 250mb/s range; a 6gb would allow you double that.
But... do not worry, 90% of what the os does is small random reads and writes, and the ssd is excellent at that and there is no impact from the sata speeds.
Install it where you have an open sata port and enjoy.
