So my 7970 came but when I installed it, it wouldn't work. It got power and the fans moved, but no signal went to my TV through the HDMI cord. Tried several cords etc. but still no luck. I want to know if I can download 7970 drivers with my 6950, but not mess up my 6950? I'm thinking this might make it work, as I don't think the card is broke or anything, but not sure what's going on. My 500 PSU is enough to do it and my MB isn't bottlenecking it or anything, so not sure what is going on. I've seen that several people have had this problem though.

First of all, if you've got a CPU with an integrated gpu, then use it. After, go on AMD's website, find and download the right drivers.
Before installing new drivers, make sure there's no driver in conflict. So unistall each driver for the 7970 you installed in the past; you can do that easily using Driver Sweeper.
I guess you should take away your 6950 drivers as well, but I'm not sure of that. Finally install the new drivers.

No, no CPU gpu. I have 6950 drivers right now for my 6950, since the 7970 doesn't work. I want to know if DLing 7970 drivers will mess up my 6950. If the 7970 is DOA, I don't want to mess up my 6950.

I don't even know if it's a driver issue, it's just one of the things I didn't try.
