I'm trying to decide which cpu to pair with a GTX 760 it's a choice between the FX-8320 or FX-6350 please help ASAP also it's for futureproof gaming

well they both need a robust motherboard... the cheapest of which would be a ga-970a-ud3. personally i'd get the 8320, more cores, it's the same cpu as the 8350, just clocked slower. you can easily overclock it up to the levels a 8350 will reach as well. If you're not planning to do even a little overclocking the 6350 will probably be a little quicker in day to day stuff... though once you get into heavily threaded stuff that advantage will vanish.

im trying to determine which cpu is better for the price the 6300 and overclock it a little or the 8320 and leave it at stock for now

well they're both made with the same cores. meaning at the same clock speed each will perform the same in single cored tasks.

they both will overclock well, most games won't use more then 1 or 2 cores, so the higher you can overclock the chip the better off you are. That said since the 8320 has 2 more cores on hand, in the few games that will use every core you got, you'll see it almost 33% better then the 6 core 6300 at the same clock speed. so it has a lot more power under the hood.

If picking the 8 core will cause you to skimp on the motherboard and cpu cooler, i'd get the 6300. if money isn't really an issue get the 8 core.
