My external hdd that is an old hard drive from a laptop will not load on my desktop running windows 7 but will on my new lapto

I can't figure this out. It says that it has 0 bytes available but i know it has 41 gb remaining. In disk management it comes up as no media on my desktop. On my laptop it reads no problem and shows everything please help.

    Are you trying to boot from this drive ?

    Via usb and no it just has data that I can not lose and I dont have enough storage to put it anywhere other than my desktop
