cant install win xp

nstalled win 7...i want to completely remove win 7 from mylaptop...jst i want win xpinit...i tried with win xp boot cd,but after sometime im getting blue screen saying some error...
pls helpme on this,telme how to install win xp in it

The issue with Win XP is that it does not recognize SATA hard drives only E-IDE hard drives. Typically you need to have a separate disc with compatible SATA drivers to be able to install Win XP. The catch is Win XP will be looking for the SATA Driver on a floppy drive. You need to do something called "Slipstreaming". Below is a link to one of many guides that can be found using Google:

However, before even doing this you must see if the manufacturer provides Win XP drivers for your laptop, whichever one it is. If they do not provide the drivers, then you will find that many thing will not operate properly or may not operate at all.

For example, I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Y470 with Win 7 installed, but I want to install Win XP. Since it has a nVidia GT 550m my 1st concern is if there is a Win XP driver for it. Guess what? Going to Lenovo's support site there are no Win XP drivers for the GT 550m. There are video drivers for the Intel HD 3000 graphics core... but if I want to install Win XP, then I have to accept the fact that I cannot use the GT 550m to play games.
