I'm making my second rig and already have some good components from my 'old' one from 2 yrs ago. I'm not sure if I'm overdoing what I actually need. Right now it's for gaming at the highest settings which I cant really do much with my current computer. Also, I don't know if overclocking memory is even worth it with my current needs. I'm also trying to 'future-proof' so I'm not forced to do this again in the next 3 yrs or so.

CPU: i7 2600K (planning on OC'ing, and this is from my old computer so not buying the 3rd gen)
CPU Cooler: Hyper 212+ (from old computer, not sure if this is gonna cut it)
Mobo: ASUS Maximus V Extreme
Memory: G.Skills Ripjaw X Series 16 GB (2x8GB DDR3 1866)--?OC
GPU: ASUS Geforce GTX 690
Storage: Samsung 840 Pro Series 512 GB
Western Digital 2TB 7200 RPM
Case: Cooler Master HAF Blue ATX Full Tower

The only components that I have are the cpu, cpu cooler. The rest I'm planning on getting based on the feedback I get about the build. I'm still researching better cpu coolers especially since I'm gonna OC the 2600K. Looks like I'll get the CL9 set of RJ X
