Hello

As I try to finish figuring out which gpu to go with my new pc build, I am wondering what to do with the old computer.

I would like to turn it into a dedicated 3D rendering/design, video editing, Photoshop machine.

I have a Dell XPS 420 with these specs:

Oced q6600 to 2.9ghz
4 g 667 ram
sata II WD Black hd
750watt bronze rated psu

If I threw in a decent affordable Quadro Pro gpu, would this be good enough for decent good 3D design/ render times and video editing times?

It would help to have a quadro, but you would need a better proccesor and most likely a new mobo and stuff,

So its not worth it? The q6600 is a quad core cpu.

Yes, It is a very old cpu and 2.9 ghz isnt very fast. Personaly, I would save up to get a FX-8350, A i5, or i7.

I am buying the FX 8350 for a new system build.
Just want to find some kind of use for this old computer. Any suggestions?
