Can using the wrong adapter ruin the monitor to the point where the red color is not working?

I was using the wrong adapter on my Mitsubishi DiamondPoint V50LCD monitor. If the voltage was incorrect could that cause the red color to stop working?

Solution
Re-mount the video card, test a different cable and test a different monitor. If all seems fine it is very possible that you have damaged the monitor permantly with the wrong voltage feed.

It's hard to say what errors would come out of using to much voltage on an equipment but yes... I would say it's likely that the red color sub pixels could "burn out". But a missing color on a display monitor is often caused by a cable not plugged in correctly or a bad cable so I would test that before you buy a new monitor. How much "incorrect" voltage was used?

The monitor call for 12V -2.5A and I was using 19V - 3.16A
