i5 4670k or FX 8350 FOR GAMING ONLY.

all i'm doing in playing games and some games that i wish to play are CPU intense such as arma2/DayZ
What should i go for? the i5 or the 8350.

I'm not going to do rendering, Video editing etc only gaming.

The i5-4670K is about $60 more but it's a much better gaming CPU.

In some games the difference will be minor but I can show you games where there is a 30% difference in performance. The i5-4670K also draws much less power so there is less waste heat.

This topic often brings a controversy of people claiming "but the FX-8350 has more threads and may run better in the future...". The bottom line is what game BENCHMARKS show you. No point in buying the FX-8350 because it MIGHT run games better in the future (I also doubt that).

I would go for the 4670k.

Other people may say the 8350 could run games better in the future, but by the point that the 4670k cannot run games well, both that and the 8350 will be no good and need to be upgraded also IMO.

for now, in the upper segments, intel wins (for me at least), and yes, by the time this processor is not fast enough (despite oc), it will be time to upgrade again
