After force shutting down windows 8 while resetting, its suddenly super slow

So after screwing up with the reset, my laptop was back to normal, no files lost or anything. But as usual, it was still slow, so i decided to let it reset without disturbance. After the reset, it went to factory settings, but was still VERY VERY slow.
Slow as in:
when i first got my computer, I could play hd videos full screen in youtube smoothly, but right now, i cant...

PS. I used to have the performance tab in catalyst control center, but now its missing :(

Assuming the laptop came with Windows 8 installed, it will have a backup Image. Do THIS:

1. Backup all data, and write down all the names of programs you installed so you can restore this (to external disc or drive).

2. Do a Factory Restore (usually initiated via one of the F-Keys. You should see options for what the F-Keys do when you start a boot or look at the website or manual.)

This will then overwrite your Windows partition (C-drive) and everthing should be exactly as it was when you bought it new.

Now restore your data, program etc.

*When everything is working, create a BACKUP IMAGE to a secondary drive such as a USB drive...

It sound like either a defective drive or a software issue. Very likely a software issue.

Things to try:
1) Reinstall the main drivers (laptop support site)

2) open DEVICE MANAGER and look for conflicts (yellow/black exclamation mark)

3) use WUBI to install Ubuntu, boot to that and see if it feels sluggish (if not, your HDD is fine)

4) As a last resort, backup your data to an external drive and restore Windows from the hidden backup (started via one of the F-Keys).

Well there are no conflicts in device manager.
About a defective drive, my drive D now has to be formatted before i can use it, not something ive seen before... is that normal?
I reinstalled my drivers using acer recovery management, rebooted, but nothing much changed.

sorry, not much of a com expert ;P

umm, i cant boot into ubuntu... theres a problem when after i install it then reboot. It says that it cant find some file, or that it is damaged, but i can still boot into windows 8

Other:
You may wish to use START8 from Stardock if the interface annoys you (and go through settings to disable Charms Bar in normal desktop etc.)

Finally, do NOT install W8.1 when it arrives officially without making a backup Image first.
