So here's my problem. I have three BenQ XL2420T's and two Asus GTX 780s. I want to run all three monitors at 120hz each. However, each 780 only has 1 DVI-D port. To my knowledge, the only cable that transfers 120hz is DVI-D. I thought that I could simply buy a displayport to DVI-D adapter, but now I've been seeing versions that need powered through USB and cost $150 or so.

What do I need to do to get all three monitors running at 120hz?

I do not think for that you need a active DisplayPort adapter so no need for the really expensive ones.

you should be able to run your panels off of the other dvi ports. the only difference from what i know is that the other dvi port has pinouts in case you have vga panels

Your monitor has Displayport input and your card has Displayport output, why use adapters?
Anyway, all of the DVI ports are Dual-Link, you should be able to use them just fine.

I didn't know that I had displayport 1.2 which can do 120hz. It's running good now! (well, it was until I put on the latest nvidia drivers. But that's something else)
