I would like to max out anything I throw at this system on a single monitor 1440p or more, for at the very least 3 years and up to 6 years with massive overclocking headroom.
My biggest worries in this equation are the processor and the video card.
From what I found out, the processor is better for mobile tech due to on-board voltage regulator that saves power, which in exchange to no benefits for PC generates more heat.
The GTX 780 isn't a Titan but the Amp! Edition surpasses a Titan in speeds, the only problem being half VRAM.
Main questions :
A) Should I wait for Haswell Enthusiast or Broadwell, for a newer gen "future-proof" ? I know 4960X has launched 2 weeks ago but it's 3rd Gen, I am taking a massive leap here from a Core2 Duo so would like to have a new gen tech able to abuse for a long time and overclock when it can't take it anymore on it's own.
B) Should I wait for GTX 790 or whatever is next to close the gap between old tech massive VRAM Titan and new tech half the VRAM 780, especially taking in consideration that I'm moving from 1080p to 1440p or 1600p ?
C) Other than that, are all those components going to run with no problems and give their very best together ?
D) Also should I wait for the PCI-Express SSDs to get cheaper like the http://ocz.com/consumer/revodrive-3-x2-pcie-ssd for ultimate storage performance ?
E) I can't find any opinions anywhere on this, will this cooler offer better cooling in a double fan config like Push-Push, Push-Pull or Pull-Pull ? And since this point is about cooling, how efficient are memory coolers ?
Other than that, please feel free to suggest, opinionate and give feedback on the overall stability, quality and performance / price of the build with possible iterations, examples or comparisons that are Performance > Overclock > Price wise.
With respect,
Thor
