I was looking on new egg and realized theres like different versions of the Intel Processors, Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, Normal i7, and then theres some with K. I wanted an i7 4770k, is that good? I know most people would suggest an i5, but Im talking i7 only.

There are different generations of Intel Core processors.
1st Gen Nehalem architecture
2nd Gen Sandy Bridge
3rd Gen Ivy Bridge
4th Gen Haswell
each have their own set of i3, i5 and i7 Processors
The most important question is your purpose.
Also the generation matters e.g. 3rd gen i5 is better then 1st gen i7 in many ways, and is generally preferred.

It totally depends on your purpose, if your building a Gaming Rig generally a good processor is more than enough you don't need a extreme High-End Processor. A good graphic card is suggested(not just saying a 1 gig or 2 gig gfx as its the processor that matters there as well e.g. a nVidia GeForce 650 with 1Gb DDR5 is far superior to nVidia GeForce 610 with 2Gb DDR3 )

I have a friend with an i7-4770K and I personally own a 3770K. My 3770K at stock clocks scores 7.98 Cinebench R11.5 x64 rendering points, and his 4770K scores 8.10 points again at stock clocks, which means that the difference between a 3770K and a 4770K is only 1.48%, which is basically nothing. I'm also willing to add that I was able to overclock my i7-3770K to 5.0 GHz with only 1.4 V without any problems what so ever, if you do not believe me, here's a video of it running Cinebench at 5.0 GHz and scoring 10.20 points: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUoZDjGM9LM! Also keep in mind that I haven't delidded my CPU, having known all that, I can say that the i7-4770K is more expensive for the exact same performance, requires a more expensive motherboard, is light years less overclockable and is all in all the worse choice compared to the 3770K!
