Hi Toms team

I need to know how many amps do my NVidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti needs. I have a Cooler Master 550 Watts 40 Amps, but the video card seems to require a better PSU,

You might well need a better PSU but that doesn't change the fact that the 560Ti is a 170w card which works out...

People your answers make me wonder... I've been reading about this video card power supplies, people says it needs 33 to 38 amps, but if really only need 14 amps, i have plenty of juice for the whole thing,

If my psu is not the problem what could be instead?

The problem is as following...
The mother board is not giving me any video signal when i connect the video card but does it without it.
already tested the video card in a different computer with a better psu and worked just fine,
also connected better psu with on my mother board and video card and also worked OK.

that is why i suspect the problem is in the PSU

You might well need a better PSU but that doesn't change the fact that the 560Ti is a 170w card which works out to a 14amp part. Wattage divided by voltage will give you the amperage.
