Nuance PDF Converter Professional 7 is not supported on Windows 8 according to Nuance's website. Has anyone tried using it anyway? If I know ahead of time it doesn't work. I can save myself the trouble of trying it. It would take some work for me to try it properly because my old PC died and so I can't uninstall the app correctly to free up the license key. If I know it works, I can try to figure out how to get my license key available to install it.

Whoops, it looks like I provided you with the wrong link. I had originally found that product, but there is an even more specific page for Nuance PDF Converter Professional 7 which can be found here. This page lists the product as compatible, which could be due to either the product having been tested, or reports from users of compatibility. It does specify version 7.30, so an update may be required to ensure compatibility. Given that it is listed as compatible, you should not have any issues.

Thanks for the link. I didn't find that when I searched. I'm not sure the comments on the page pertain to the Nuance PDF converter. I know version 8 is supported, but I don't want to pay for it. Anyone else here have real life experience with version 7 on Windows 8?

I have Nuance PDF Converter Professional 6.0 and it's working pretty good on Windows 8. So far I haven't had any issues other than scanning. Here's what I had to do that might work for 7.0 (if scanning is the issue).

Find the files PdfProbHook.exe and TwainClientU.exe at c:\Program Files (x86)\Nuance\PFD Professional 6. For each of these files, right mouse click on each file, select properties, compatibility tab and check Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 7. Then restart Windows (perhaps even the computer). I hope this works for everyone else.
