Best Motherboard for the FX-8320 under $200

I have to agree that the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 is a great choice because that's what I have and I marvel at everything it has. Having said that, if I were to buy a motherboard today, it would be the ASRock 970 Pro3 because I never use nVidia cards or eSATA so having that capability means nothing to me. When I bought my GA-990FXA-UD3, no motherboard maker had a board based on AMD's 970 chipset with more than one card slot. Today, the AMD 970 boards support crossfire and even though some (like the Pro3) don't have eSATA, I have never used eSATA even though my last two motherboards had it. At $60, the ASRock supports ALL piledriver CPUs and only has features that most people actually use. In addition to that, right now, ATi dominates tomshardware's best GPUs for the money list so not having SLI capability is a moot point because there's no reason to buy an nVidia card when the best power and value out there is the ATi Radeon HD 7870 (Yes, I still refer to Radeons as ATi cards...lol). I understand the desire to get a "high-end" motherboard but unless you're a big overclocker, use eSATA and have a strange desire to use nVidia SLI no matter what, you don't need an 990FX-based motherboard. I think that the only three questions you should have for a motherboard are "Does it support my CPU and have all the features that I want and will actually use?", "Is it very nicely priced?" and "Does it have high-quality components that will deliver good reliability?". In this case, I believe that the ASRock 970 PRO3 answers all three of those questions with a resounding "YES!".

Hope this helps you. Cheers!
