videos disappeared from folder

hi,

I had many movies in my drive in several folders. Last week all movie files have disappeared but folders and subfolders are still there. The property of the main folder which is named "Film" shows 0 bytes. The files in the main folder was not hidden. Now I can access those files using KMPlayer by using 'Ctrl+O' (ie, open files shortcut). That means files are still there in the folder but couldn't access directly. How can I restore the files?

Try right-clicking the folder when it is highlighted in Windows Explorer and then selecting Properties.
Then select "Previous Versions" and see if you see them. If so, you can pull them out of there and put them into the C:\ location where you had them.

make sure you open up Windows Explorer and make sure to go into Tools; Then Folder Options, and make sure "hide known file types and extensions" I forget the exact words. There are a few in that same section that I also uncheck so that I see every type of file and extension.

Just wanted to thank danny2000 for suggesting the previous folder version recovery option. I inexplicably lost a ton of videos and was so upset that it never dawned on me to check for a previous version (numerous searches did not suggest this at all). So hey thanks!
