I have a more complex question than what I named the title. I have the computer parts listed below, and I want to install the Radeon 7790 with a Radeon 7750 I have in my other computer. The Radeon 7750 however, supports CrossfireX BUT DOES NOT have a CrossfireX bridge plug for me to plug both cards together with. So here is a summary of what my situation is:
My radeon 7790 supports CrossfireX and has a bridge plug to connect both cards together, but my radeon 7750 supports CrossfireX, but does not have a port to plug the bridge into. The 7750 is meant to plug into the motherboard and be ready, but the 7790 I THINK requires a bridge.
So my QUESTION is, can I use BOTH GPUs without the bridge?

Here are my PC parts that I bought:

HDD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Radeon 7790 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

PLEASE HELP!

You can't xfire different cards bro. It should always be the same cards. And IFFFFF you can make them work, the more powerful card will be downgraded to the speed of the slower card.

Since these are low power cards, they don't require you to connect them together with a bridge. You should be able to connect them normally and run crossfireX via the motherboard. It would be nice for someone to verify this, but I think you're probably correct in your assumption (that's what I've been reading too).

You can indeed crossfire different cards, but you need to verify that they are compatible. Take a look at this graph from AMD showing compatibility: http://sites.amd.com/PublishingImages/Public/Graphic_Il...

You can't use Crossfire with 2 different model cards, unfortunately, in the case of the 7790 (link here, relevant quote is "The operation of AMD CrossFire™ technology in dual mode requires a second AMD Radeon™ HD 7790 graphics card and an AMD CrossFire™ Ready motherboard."). You would also need to be able to connect the bridge to both cards since the 7790 doesn't support Crossfire over the PCIe slot like the 7750, so the only way I know of for you to be able to use Crossfire would be to purchase a second (preferably identical, since you know it has the bridge connection and will be compatible) 7790.

Edit: I guess you could also purchase a second (again, identical) 7750, but why go down when you can go up.
