I would like to upgrade my graphics card but want to stay away from bottlenecking.
I want to upgrade from the radeon 6450 to the 7770 or gtx 650.
I have an amd 14 3400 apu processor 2.7 ghz

Bottlenecking is impossible to avoid as no two parts can run something at exactly matching speeds (and if they could do this for say BF3, it wouldn't be the as even in metro 2033). The trick is to minimize bottlenecks.

As the A4-3400 and 7770/650 are all lower/midrange parts - I'd doubt that you'd have issue with either GPU.
