Depends on what you do. The Q6600 has 8 MB of cache while the 8300 has only 4 MB. In games you won't see difference, in programs like Photoshop, AE, Maya, 3Ds, Cinema 4d, etc, etc. you will notice that the Q6600 will be snappier even with the 100 Mhz lower clocks. Also the Q6600 will be a bit easier to overclock, gaining same and even more performance. The problem is you need a very, very solid cooler, which is also pricey. If you have to spend more than 100-125 euro or USD then don't bother. This platform is aging. Although it still pack a punch, it won't be for long.
