System Upgrade suggestions

Looking to upgrade my system. i7 920, Asus P6t v deluxe, 12gb memory, EVGA 580 SC, 550gb SATA HD, PSU 1000w. Any suggestions. System is used primarly for gaming.

I do not see why you would want to upgrade this PC.
It's very good as it is.

If you want it to be more responsive, buy a SSD.

If you want better performance in general applications, overclock the CPU.

If you want better gaming performance, grab a new graphics card or SLI your current one.

But really, apart from the SSD, the other upgrades make no sense at least to me.
I'm sure you can play every game on high settings smoothly and max out all not so demanding games.

Unfortuately you're caught in a tough spot....

I agree exactly with what Kamen said.

Otherwise if you want to replace your processor you're going to have to replace the processor, motherboard AND memory - I'm guessing it's tri-channel.
You're looking at about $600+ to do that and make a difference.

Unless you play games at a very high resolution you aren't going to notice the new/extra video card.

The SSD as your boot drive is probably going to give you the biggest bang for the buck.

The i7-920 has been out for almost 5yrs but it's still a decent processor.
