Hey guys- I am good with computers, but have almost no knowledge of SLI. Do the 2 cards have to be in slots right next to eachother (the next slot available, I know 770 takes up 2 slots), or can it be farther away, as long as the bridge is on?

The first 770 is in the first slot, then at the next blue PCIe slot can I put the gpu?

Usually the bottom slot is only 1x - so yes you'd want them in the 2 slots closest to each other.

If you provide the model number for the motherboard it would be easier to confirm.

I dont actually have a final model picked out yet, I've just been looking for ones with the slots in that setup.I was thinking the Gigabyte GA-Z87X-OC, but today I found an EVGA Z87 FTW that looked awesome. It isnt released yet, but Im hoping that it will be out by Christmas of this year. It is a bit more, but it looks and sounds a bit better.
