Hi, I have been decreasing my voltage to get the lowest voltage that is stable at stock I will not be overclocking for a while) my voltage is 1.260 and it goes up to 1.308 when at 51C on cpu. I have set cool and quiet to always off.

Motherboard; ASUS Sabertooth 990FX AM3+ R2.0
PSU: Corsair AX850 watt (80+ gold)
CPU: FX-8350
Cooler: Corsair H60 (2x Corsair SP 120mm performance fans) SP(Static pressure)

new temps (idle) before messing with voltage (1.392)
http://

old temps (idle
CPU: 36
vcore 1 43C
Vcore 2: 40C

Old max temps after prime
http:// All fans are on normal for both tests.

New max temps after prime:
http://
Voltages are the reason why I wanted to lower it.

In the first one fsb is 216MHz or overclocked second one std 200MHz, You must have Asus overclocking utility activated in the first one.

yea I did. without turbo on. Do you think my temps are fine ? I am mainly worried about the V-cores those get hot for some reason I just want this build to last as long as possible that's why I wanted to lower the voltage.

why does the cpu throttle down from 4013Mhz to 3433 Mhz in prime 95 after about 7 mins or when cpu his 51C ? this is my second question

right now yes I went from 1.392 to 1.260 and it is perfectly stable in prime 95 it throttles down the frequency to 3,433 MHz after about 7 mins of it then goes back up and repeats.

I disabled cool and quiet it goes up to 1.308 max when doing prime 95. Does this mean I could still decrease my voltage more ? and is the throttling like that normal it only seems to do that when it get above 50C on cpu.

That is what leads me to suspect the VRM's. How is your case ventilation? try placing a fan above your VRM bank and see if this helps resolve your issue.

I have the original NZXT Phantom with 2x 200MM fans on the top (exhaust) and 2 120mm SP corsair fans for radiator 2x 120 mm fans on the side door for HDD and 1x 120mm in front for intake HDD. top 200MM FANS ARE ALWAYS ON MEDUIM EVERYTHING ELSE IS ON LOWEST EXCEPT FOR RADIATOR FANS CONTROLLED MY MOTHERBOARD.

getting reliable vrm temps is so difficult due to all these different boards using different sensors and all that. Id try my suggestion of placing a fan over the VRM's blowing down. Strange sabertooths have pretty good vrm cooling.

I would put a 200mm on the door as an intake but my radiator is in the way. Do you think my voltages are lower than what it is saying? because on stock when I built this computer my v cores would be at 50C on idle without the top fans on that's why they are on medium.

Ran prime for 10 mins and all cores passed with no problems with 1.250 went up to 1.284

I find it weird that I have been able to lower my voltage so much

Probably a combination with the sabertooth motherboard and CPU
Would the power supply help this to ?
